Luke Summey
Research Engineer
Luke facilitates research efforts in the Traumatic Brain Injury subgroups as a specialist in in-vitro cellular impact device design, and experimental methods development. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Ferris State University in 2018, then completed a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2020.
He conducts independent research,while managing laboratory equipment, such as multiphoton, confocal, and epifluorescence microscopes, rheometers, impact devices, 3D printers, and more.
He is interested in developing new techniques to evaluate how mechanical insult can lead to TBI across several length and time scales.
