Michael's background is in cellular and tissue biomechanics.  He completed his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology while working in the Department of Physics at The University of Arizona, joining the Franck lab in 2016.

 

Michael specializes in quantitative live imaging studies of mammalian and bacterial cells.  He works collaboratively with the Reichner Laboratory in the Drivision of Surgical Research at Rhode Island Hospital understanding how biomechanical cues drive the function and regulation of immune cells, like neutrophils.  

 

Michael is an expert biophysicist with comprehensive research experience in infectious diseases, cancer biology and immunology.  .
