Jon graduated with a Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Brown, and continued on in the Franck Lab as a post doc in 2017, before moving on to the University of Michigan for a post-doc with Ellen Arruda, Ph.D.
Jon's project focused on quantifying microcavitation as a neuronal damage mechanism in an in vitro model of blast Traumatic Brain Injury. Neuronal health and physiological function are quantified over time for different strain and strain rates.
Jon's research also included cell motility in 3D environments and developing a platform for 3D high-speed microimaging of 2D surfaces.
